Mary Macey Butler’s art will be on display at the Riverfront Art Gallery’s first annual juried show of photography from January 12th through March 6th 2011.
"A smörgâsbord of photographic delights is at Riverfront Art Gallery for the Winter Show. “Showinʼ On The River!” -- our first juried photography show – will showcase 27 area photographic artists.
This sampling of works is diverse in subject and approach. There are, of course, digital and film captures and a variety of subjects. The photographers themselves range from students to established professionals in advertising, journalism, portraiture, psychology, and other less-related fields. Award-winning photographers with impressive prizes to their credit are among those whose works have been published in books, magazines, and as CD covers." Mary Butler is master of a very difficult technique. Her abstracts are created in-camera, by making multiple exposures which result in wonderfully poetic images of woodland settings.
